Savor Book Review

I love Shauna Niequist's books and her devotional is no different. Each day is a short devotional with a Bible verse and a few questions. Every few days she includes one of her awesome recipes. The questions at the end of the devo are my favorite. They are very thought provoking and it gives me time to process the verse and the phase of life I am in currently. I love her style of writing and the stories she tells that makes you feel like you can relate to everything she says. Her honesty and authenticity are very refreshing and a welcome start to my day! I recommend this book to busy moms, college girls, foodies, and book clubs. It would be a great devo to read and each month get together and make on of the recipes and talk about your favorite question, verse, or story.

I received this book for free from Book Look Bloggers. My opinions are my own.

The Postage Stamp Vegetable Garden

The Postage Stamp Vegetable Garden is a must read for new gardeners! My four year old son and I have been wanting to start a garden and when I saw this book up for review on Blogging for Books I just knew I had to get it. And it did not disappoint! I learned everything I need to know to plant an awesome vegetable garden. The book is chock full of great advice and information including garden maps and a list of every vegetable with information on how to best grow each variety. The author gives great advice on soils, compost, where to plant, how to plant, and when to harvest. I can't recommend this book enough! Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy. I will have it with me year-round as I am growing my first crop of veggies. I received this book for free from Blogging For Books. These opinions are my own.

I loved how many flavors and cultures were introduced through the recipes. I highly recommend this cookbook to all adult/child chef partners and solo chefs ages 8 and up.  I just reviewed Kids Cook Dinner by Deanna F. Cook. #KidsCookDinner

The Christian Parenting Handbook

I've been reading The Christian Parenting Handbook and it's great! Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller wrote the book and say you will learn how to:  Identify character qualities to address problems Build internal motivation Use creativity to teach your kids spiritual truths I love the way the book is set up with 50 short chapters on different parenting tips, common problems, and biblical truths. It's perfect to pick up and read whenever you have a free second. They offer real, practical, and biblical advice. I really appreciated the way the authors gave concrete examples and how to  implement them into your family.  One of my favorite chapters is titled "Don't Practice In The Grocery Store-That's The Final Exam." It's all about what to do when your child acts out in public. They wisely suggest that you, "practice in the kitchen, bedroom, laundry room, and backyard. Children need to learn how to handle disappointment at home so they can accept a
